Quentin
Willson is best known as a motoring aficionado and reporter
having presented the popular and highly acclaimed television
series, ' Top Gear ' and his own classic car series, '
The Car's The Star ' that was nominated by the Royal Television
Society for best factual programme in 1997.
His television career began in 1991 and he is now a familiar
face in the UK and also in Europe, India and the Arab
Emirates. His engaging and informative style of presenting
has kept him at the forefront of consumer programmes both
in the car industry and in the property market, where
he reports on the property series ' All the Right Moves
' that is now into it's third series.
He was born in 1957 and educated at Leicester University,
after which he became the deputy editor of both Buying
Cars and Car Choice magazines.
Today he is recognised as a consumer champion in the fast-moving,
wheeler dealer worlds of both Car and House buying, where
he exposes sharp practises and underhand dealings to safeguard
the public. He takes a refreshing look at the service
in both industries often with a hint of sarcasm and a
wry smile.
He has transferred his knowledge and experience in the
motor industry into print as the author of the BBC publications,
Top Gear The Good Car Guide in both 1993 and 1994. He
also wrote the Ultimate Classic Car Book and Classic American
Cars , both published by Dorling Kindersley. He has also
written for a number of magazines and newspapers including,
The Times, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, Daily Express,
What Car, BBC Good Homes, Classic & Sportscar, AA
Magazine and The Mirror.
Quentin has also turned his hand to presenting his own
Saturday morning chat show ' Menzone ' for BBC2, and narrated
' Driving School ' and ' War And Piste ' both six-part
series for BBC 1.
Quentin is in constant demand as a presenter, interviewer
and host for corporate events as well as for his entertaining
and original speeches on the after dinner circuit where
his amusing anecdotes on service and consumer issues never
fail to amaze and entertain the guests. |
